چکیده

Soil erosion is a globally challenging issue that hinders agricultural productivity by enhancing land degradation and loss to the top fertile soil. Although it global issue, its effect adverse on farmers dwell in developing countries. Hence, providing information soil crucial plan implement appropriate water conservation measures. Accordingly, estimation models were developed grouped as empirical, conceptual, physical-based broad umbrella. This review paper primarily intended compare opportunities limitations of widely implemented their applicability selecting used such as: USLE, RUSLE, SLEMSA, WEPP. The result this revealed so reviewed have been designed predict from sheet rill erosion. Evidence studies indicated R/USLE can be universally calibrating local environmental conditions. They are simple, requires less data computational time, however; they not event responsive measure gully stream-bank But, RUSLE model has different parameter calculation procedure than USLE. study also depicts SLEMSA treats factors separate entities highly influenced LS factors. WEPP capability estimate short time scale out-of-place rates, but; only works for individual hillslope. Thus, based following recommendations forwarded further fill gaps; upgrading parameters, modification topographic sub-model revision essential parameters large catchments.

Comparison of two MPSIAC and MMF models in soil erosion mapping of Ardebil Agh Gouni watershed

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Soil erosion is the most important cause of land degradation and the cause of water loss, soil loss, sedimentation in water resources, and maximum flood intensification (Liu et al., 2019). Models are the most important tools for estimating and mapping of erosion at the watershed level. As the experimental models are dependent on used coefficients and region c...

Estimation of soil erosion and sediment yield using GIS

A Geographical Information System (GIS) based method is proposed and demonstrated for the identification of sediment source areas and the prediction of storm sediment yield from catchments. Data from the Nagwa and Karso catchments in Bihar (India) have been used. The Integrated Land and Water Information System (ILWIS) GIS package has been used for carrying out geographic analyses. An Earth Res...

Estimation of Soil Erosion Time Paths : The Value of Soil Moisture and Topsoil Depth Information

Rates of soil erosion in the dryland cropping region of Saskatchewan are investigated under alternative cropping strategies. Chemical fallow is examined as an alternative to tillage fallow for moisture and soil conservation. Conclusions include: (a) flexible cropping increases net discounted returns and substantially reduces soil erosion compared to the predominant crop rotation; (b) chemical f...
